2021 Chapter Officer Leadership Training (COLT)

COLT 2021 (Virtual)

ERA’s Chapter Officer Leadership Training program (COLT) is scheduled for Nov. 3–5, 2021

COLT is back and better than ever! ERA is excited to provide this dynamic course virtually for 2021. By attending this program, you can expect to gain a better understanding of chapter operations and pick up useful tools on how to run an effective chapter. We encourage all chapters to consider participating in 2021 to share best practices in chapter leadership and continue to drive a strong chapter network.

Still interested in registering for COLT? Please contact Erin Collins at ecollins@era.org.

New this year: Since COLT will be hosted online this year, and we want to use this opportunity to reach as many members as possible, ERA National has decided to waive the standard $500 tuition fee. There will be no expense to attend Virtual COLT 2021, and chapter scholarships do not need to be used.

Chapter leaders who complete COLT this year will receive one complimentary attendee registration for the 2022 ERA Conference, scheduled for Feb. 27 – March 1 in Austin, Texas. This benefit is non-transferrable and only one comped registration allotted per chapter.

Join a small group of fellow chapter officers, both current and future, for an intensive (but genuinely enjoyable) program loaded with practical knowledge, tips and ERA  insider information to help you meet the challenges of serving as a volunteer leader.

COLT presents the big picture … all about …
— ERA, your local chapter and YOU, the volunteer leader.
— Supporting your chapter needs (without reinventing the wheel).

COLT gets down to details about …
— Running a chapter effectively, especially today when volunteerism is highly strained.
— Key areas of chapter operation, including:

• structure and governance
• educational programming
• volunteerism
• communications
• member services
• industry activities
• special events
• bylaws and elections
• tax status and other legal matters
• committees and task forces
• membership recruitment and retention
• meeting management and presentation
• newsletters and other publications
• chapter websites

And … COLT delivers dynamic interaction!

— Hosting the program virtually allows for more chapter leaders than ever to attend.
— Using Zoom functions will allow us to implement collaborative small breakout sessions for ample discussion, Q & A and networking.
