During the 2021 ERA Virtual Conference, held March 1-3. the Electronics Representatives Association (ERA) announced the chapters that have been selected as Chapters of the Year award recipients for their 2020 activities. This year, the awards are based on three categories: Education, Membership and Networking. Chapter Leadership Council, Bob Evans, CPMR, President of EK Micro announced the Chapters of the Year award recipients, which are as follows:

In the Education category, the award goes to the Carolinas ERA Chapter for its series of Networking Lunches. These programs featured expert presenters from different fields, who covered timely and valuable topics such as: The Future of 5G, Selling in a COVID World, and Ideas for Effective Customer Engagement. These sessions had record attendance with lively and engaging discussions.

In the Membership category, the award goes to the Chicagoland-Wisconsin ERA Chapter for its email campaign initiative focusing on former ERA members to promote upcoming chapter events. The goal was to show the value of being an active and current chapter member. This opened up a line of communication with old members. These former members started to attend chapter events, and ultimately resulted in bringing in three new members.

In the Networking category, the award goes to the Arizona ERA Chapter for its Water Cooler event: Thriving in Today’s Economy. More than 80 people attended this session featured a panel discussion, moderated by Walter Tobin, featuring senior executives from a customer, a principal and a distributor who provided valuable insight into their experience and expectations in the Arizona market and the electronics industry.

Each Chapters of the Year award recipient will be recognized in ERA publications and on the ERA website. Also, new this year, each award recipient will receive one conference attendee registration for the 2022 ERA Conference in Austin, Texas.

Evans congratulated all award recipients and added, “Thank you to all the chapters who submitted entries this year. You have all shown your resilience during this past year, keeping your members connected.”
