2020-2021 ERA Industry Survey

ERA strives to stay on top of industry trends and opportunities. To keep its members up-to-date on current industry issues, ERA put together its fifth annual industry survey.

The survey was conducted online in December 2020. It offers a current industry assessment and 2021 business outlook based on rep, distributor and manufacturer ERA member feedback.

Key highlights of the report include demographics of the surveyed respondents, business performance, operating costs and areas of importance.

When asked how COVID-19 has impacted their business and operations in 2020, ERA members had a wide range of responses — from little impact to surprisingly less impact than initially anticipated to significant impact, including a decrease in sales, project delays, 10-30 percent decrease in revenue, etc.

In addition, surveyed members also reported having to adapt to working from home, travel restrictions, implementing virtual strategies, greater use of social media, investing in training and more.

Despite these challenges, over 75 percent of members anticipate that 2021 will be a good business year for their organization.
