Budde Marketing, which provides monthly POS Index reports to ERA members, issued its latest summary, running from January 2019 through October 2021. Visit era.org to view the new index. According to the latest report, October 2021 marked the eighth straight month of double digit growth, or 17% ahead of the January 2019 base point. Comparing month over month for the past couple of years, October was 15% over 2019 and 20% over 2020. The report predicts hat the strong recovery will continue throughout the end of this year. North American semiconductor equipment manufacturers announced global sales of $3.74 billion in October 2021 (three-month moving average), which is 0.6% higher than the $3.72 billion in September 2021 and 41.3% higher than the $2.65 billion in October 2020. Read more at SemiMedia.
NAND Flash revenue rises by 15% for the 3rd quarter of 2021. The growth of the NAND Flash market was primarily driven by strong demand from the data center and smartphone industries. Read more at Evertiq.
Weekly jobless claims for the period ending Dec. 11 totaled 206,000, which was more than the estimated 195,000. Yet, the four-week moving average declined to its lowest level since Nov. 15, 1969. Read more.
