Monthly POS Reports

Budde Marketing, which provides monthly POS Index reports to ERA members, has issued its latest summary, running from January 2018 through November 2019. Visit to view the new index. According to the new report, November 2019 was the slowest month for all of 2019. Over 75 percent of companies included in the index were down for the month. While November 2019 was only 1 percent below the November 2018 numbers; it was 6 percent below the index (January 2018) and 8 percent down from October 2019. The global market for wearable electronics is projected to reach $61.4 billion by 2025. The market is driven by the availability of inexpensive sensors, miniaturized yet powerful microchips and processors, low-power lighter electronic components, evolving app ecosystem and the resulting expansion of applications addressed by wearable products and services. Semiconductor buyers can expect a buyer’s market for memory ICs in the first half of 2020, but supply should tighten and prices increase in the second half as demand for DRAM and NAND flash rises. Worldwide sales of smartphones to end users are on track to reach 1.57 billion units in 2020, an increase of 3 percent year over year, according to Gartner Inc.
