According to the new report, May 2021 activity is down from this year’s March and April numbers. Contract prices of NAND Flash products will rise marginally in the third quarter of 2021 with a quarter over quarter increase in the range of 5 – 10 percent, according to TrendForce. Demand remains fairly strong in the main application segments due to the arrival of the traditional peak season and the growth in the procurement related to data centers. Read more at EPSNews.
Global PC shipments saw a 45 percent year-on-year growth reaching up to 75.6 million units in the first quarter of 2021 following a surge in demand. However, the ongoing global chip crunch will continue to affect the shipment schedules of PC brands and ODMs in the second half of this year. Read more at ElectronicsB2B.
Global semiconductor industry sales were $43.6 billion in the month of May 2021, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association. This is an increase of 26.2 percent over the May 2020 total of $34.6 billion and 4.1 percent more than the April 2021 total of $41.9 billion. Read more at eBOM.
