Sales of electric vehicles will hit 7 million a year, in 2025, making up 7 percent of the total vehicle shipments, writes Bill Ray of Garnter. According to Ray, “with the shift towards an electric drive chain comes a whole lot more semiconductors.” Read more at Gartner.
The North American robotics market was up 7.2 percent in the first half of 2019, the Robotic Industries Association (RIA) reported. The growth was driven by the automotive OEMs who increased their purchases by 83 percent. Read more at DCVelocity.
The MCU (microcontroller unit) market is expected to contract by 6 percent this year, according to IC Insights. The fall is being attributed to an overall slowdown in electronic systems, a fall off in car purchases and the ongoing US-China trade war. Read more at NewElectronics.
Facebook launched a Playable Ads Preview tool for mobile app developers that will let them test and validate Playable Ads before they create a mobile app ad campaign around it. Read more at MarketingLand.
Commissions are an effective way to motivate sales representatives; however, it’s important for sales managers not to rely on them too heavily, writes David Brock. Managers need to leverage everything they can to drive performance including setting clear performance expectations, properly training employees and coaching them regularly. The Congressional Budget Office predicted that the economy will expand 2.3 percent this year and then grow at an average annual rate of 1.8 percent over the next decade. The federal deficit will total $960 billion this year, up $63 billion from the Congressional Budget office May assessment. Read more at Politico.
