ERA Announces 2022 Chapters of the Year
The Electronics Representatives Association (ERA) announced the recipients of the Chapters of the Year award for outstanding 2022 local chapter activities. The awards were based on four categories: Education, Networking, Marketing and Special Projects.
In the Education category, the award went to the Northern California ERA Chapter for their online event, Time Management Strategies. This virtual program provided the attendees tools to use their time well and get the results required to increase sales productivity and efficiency. The chapter generously opened it up to all ERA chapters to attend.
In the Marketing category, the award went to the Arizona ERA Chapter for its Industry Gathering: State of the Sonoran Electronics Economy event. The goal in hosting this event was to bring the Phoenix-area electronic components industry community together to elevate professionalism, promote the representative function and create a fellowship and bond with fellow sales professionals.
In the Networking category, the award went to the Southwest ERA Chapter for their Happy Hour and Food Bank Fundraiser event in November. The chapter hosted over 40 members at their first in-person chapter event in 2022. This event was designed to bring members together for networking along with benefiting the local community for the holiday season. Attendees donated 99 pounds of food, as well as a cash donation, which was all delivered to the North Texas Food Bank.
In the Special Projects category, the award went to the Empire State ERA Chapter for its Julie Baker Memorial Golf Tournament. This tournament was hosted to raise awareness for domestic violence and supporting a local domestic violence shelter while honoring the memory of long-time Empire Chapter board member and industry colleague, Julie Baker. Chapter officers and volunteers worked with family, community and industry peers throughout the year to deliver this special event, which raised over $55,000 in donations.
ERA Chairman of the Board Chuck Tanzola presented each chapter with its award at the 2023 ERA Conference, held Feb. 26-28, in Austin, Texas.
“ERA’s strong foundation lies in its chapters,” said Tanzola. “Congratulations to these four chapters for their outstanding efforts in 2022 and continued engagement with local members. The level and quality of local activity in all chapters was impressive in 2022 and we hope it continues in 2023.”
