2022-2023 ERA Member Industry Survey

ERA’s seventh annual industry survey was conducted in December 2022 and presents ERA rep, distributor and manufacturer assessments about their operations and business in 2022-2023, and a forecast for 2023.

The answers to the survey reflect industry members reflecting on a successful 2022: Sixty-one percent of those surveyed rated 2022 as an excellent or very good year. Fifty-six percent reported revenue increases in 2022 greater than 10 percent; an additional 25 percent reported a 5 to 10 percent increase.

When looking ahead to 2023, however, respondents have a bit less enthusiasm.

About half of members surveyed indicate they anticipate revenue growth in 2023 to be less than 5 percent, flat or down. Seventy-five percent of respondents predict an increase in total operating costs in 2023.

Areas of importance, focus or concern for members are the overall state of the economy, supply chain disruption, business partnerships, strategic planning, staffing and digital marketing.
