Who Is Eligible

The ERA Mentoring Program is open to:

  • Active ERA members across manufacturers, distributors and manufacturers’ representatives
  • Individuals nominated by their organization to participate, including but not limited to those in the NexGen group
  • Professionals across all functional areas (sales, marketing, operations and beyond)
  • Individuals who are new to the industry or seeking to grow their network, knowledge and career


There is no minimum tenure requirement. The program is designed for individuals who are motivated to grow within the profession, strengthen their impact, and contribute to the future of the electronics industry.

Mentee Expectations

The ERA Mentoring Program is most impactful when mentees take ownership of the experience.

Mentees are expected to:

Take a Proactive Role in the Relationship

-Schedule meetings and manage coordination with their mentor
-Create agendas and guide discussion topics
-Come prepared with questions, updates and reflections

Commit to Consistent Engagement

-Participate in the full six-month program
-Meet with their mentor twice per month (approximately one hour per meeting)
-Maintain regular communication and follow through on commitments

Actively Work Toward Goals

-Identify personal and professional development goals early in the relationship
-Take ownership of progress and follow through on action items
-Apply insights and guidance to real-world industry situations

Communicate with Professionalism & Integrity

-Show up prepared, engaged and respectful
-Maintain confidentiality and honor the trust within the mentoring relationship
-Communicate openly and responsibly

Demonstrate a Growth Mindset

-Be open to feedback and new perspectives
Approach conversations with curiosity and a willingness to learn
-Take responsibility for personal and professional development

Best Practices for a Successful Mentoring Experience

Program Completion

To be considered an active and successful participant in the ERA Mentoring Program, mentees should:

  • Maintain engagement throughout the six-month program
  • Participate in regular mentoring meetings (recommended twice per month)
  • Demonstrate commitment to their goals and development
  • Engage professionally and consistently with their mentor
