> Electronics Industry Mourns Norman D. MacInnis

ERA is saddened to report the February 2023 passing of Norman D. MacInnis, founder of the MacInnis Company, a manufacturers’ rep in New England.

He founded the MacInnis Company in 1981 and was president of the company for most of his career. MacInnis served as president of the New England ERA chapter and in 1999 was appointed chairman of the national ERA Conference. He was a life member of ERA. In 2000, he was elected president of the EDS Summit in Las Vegas.

MacInnis grew up in Newton, Mass., and joined the National Guard then Air Force after high school. After service, he completed his education and subsequently began his career in electronics. Norman lived in Sharon, Mass., and had four grown children and seven grandchildren.

He had many interests including reading, traveling and learning about the Scottish history of the MacInnis clan. He also loved book collecting, particularly Scottish and American history and genealogy. He explored the Highlands area of Scotland several times and spent time in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, every year. He served as commissioner of the North Atlantic region for the Clan MacInnes Society and past president of the International Association of Clan MacInnes.
