MONTHLY POS REPORTS
Our base point of January 2021 saw the COVID-19 pandemic begin to lose steam, resulting in a significant rebound in POS activity. That being said, due to the strong growth in 2022, there is the good probability that we will see a slowdown of POS activity in 2023. Distributor inventories have swelled and demand has begun to slow down a bit. Outside influences will also affect 2023, including supply chain issues, inflation, the Ukraine/Russia conflict, etc.
Looking at January 2023, POS activity was almost identical to December 2022 and about 10 percent ahead of January of last year. Normally January reflects an uptick over the December number; however, this January was basically flat when compared to last month.
