MONTHLY POS REPORTS
Our base point of January 2021 saw the COVID-19 pandemic begin to lose steam, resulting in a significant rebound in POS activity. That being said, due to the strong growth in 2022, there is the good probability that we will see a slowdown of POS activity in 2023. Distributor inventories have swelled and demand has begun to slow down a bit. Outside influences will also affect 2023, including supply chain issues, inflation, the Ukraine/Russia conflict, etc.
March was up significantly from January and February numbers, representing the largest POS month since March 2022. This is exactly what we predicted last month based on our years of trending analysis. However, March 2023 POS is flat when compared to March 2022, and the first quarter of this year is ahead of last year by approximately 2 percent. It appears as though everything is progressing as expected.
